He is the Hearer, the Beholder! 4154 40 21 أولم يسيروا في الأرض فينظروا كيف كان عاقبة الذين كانوا من قبلهم كانوا هم أشد منهم قوة وآثارا في الأرض فأخذهم الله بذنوبهم وما كان لهم من الله من واق Have they not travelled about in the land so that they may behold of what wise hath been the end of those who were before them? They were mightier than these in strength and in the traces in the land. Yet Allah laid hold of them for their sins, and from Allah they had none as protector. 4155 40 22 ذلك بأنهم كانت تأتيهم رسلهم بالبينات فكفروا فأخذهم الله إنه قوي شديد العقاب That was because their apostles were wont to bring them evidence, but they disbelieved; wherefore Allah laid hold of them. Verily He is strong, severe in chastisement. 4156 40 23 ولقد أرسلنا موسى بآياتنا وسلطان مبين And assuredly We sent Musa with Our signs and a manifest authority. 4157 40 24 إلى فرعون وهامان وقارون فقالوا ساحر كذاب Unto Fir'awn and Haman and Qur'an, but they said: a magician, a liar. 4158 40 25 فلما جاءهم بالحق من عندنا قالوا اقتلوا أبناء الذين آمنوا معه واستحيوا نساءهم وما كيد الكافرين إلا في ضلال And when he came to them with the truth from before Us, they said: slay the sons of those who have believed with him, and let their women live. And the plot of the infidels was naught but vain. 4159 40 26 وقال فرعون ذروني أقتل موسى وليدع ربه إني أخاف أن يبدل دينكم أو أن يظهر في الأرض الفساد And Fir'awn said: let me alone, that may slay Musa, and let him call upon his Lord.
