| | | Those who observe the prayer, and pay the obligatory charity, and are certain of the Hereafter. |

| | | These are upon guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. |

| 3475 | 31 | 6 | ومن الناس من يشتري لهو الحديث ليضل عن سبيل الله بغير علم ويتخذها هزوا أولئك لهم عذاب مهين |
| | | Among the people is he who trades in distracting tales; intending, without knowledge, to lead away from God’s way, and to make a mockery of it. These will have a humiliating punishment. |

| 3476 | 31 | 7 | وإذا تتلى عليه آياتنا ولى مستكبرا كأن لم يسمعها كأن في أذنيه وقرا فبشره بعذاب أليم |
| | | And when Our Verses are recited to him, he turns away in pride, as though he did not hear them, as though there is deafness in his ears. So inform him of a painful punishment. |
