They had been inventing lies in this way. 3465 30 56 وقال الذين أوتوا العلم والإيمان لقد لبثتم في كتاب الله إلى يوم البعث فهذا يوم البعث ولكنكم كنتم لا تعلمون Those who have received knowledge and have faith will say, "By the decree of God, you have remained for the exact period which was mentioned in the Book of God about the Day of Resurrection. This is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not know." 3466 30 57 فيومئذ لا ينفع الذين ظلموا معذرتهم ولا هم يستعتبون The excuses of the unjust on this day will be of no avail to them and they will not be able to please God. 3467 30 58 ولقد ضربنا للناس في هذا القرآن من كل مثل ولئن جئتهم بآية ليقولن الذين كفروا إن أنتم إلا مبطلون We have told people various parables in this Quran. Even if you had shown them a miracle, the unbelievers would have said, "You are only the followers of falsehood". 3468 30 59 كذلك يطبع الله على قلوب الذين لا يعلمون Thus does God seal the hearts of those who do not know. 3469 30 60 فاصبر إن وعد الله حق ولا يستخفنك الذين لا يوقنون Be patient.
