Aye! ye are a people being tested. 3207 27 48 وكان في المدينة تسعة رهط يفسدون في الأرض ولا يصلحون And there were nine of a group in the City, who spread corruption in the land and rectified not. 3208 27 49 قالوا تقاسموا بالله لنبيتنه وأهله ثم لنقولن لوليه ما شهدنا مهلك أهله وإنا لصادقون They said: swear one to anot her by God that we shall surely fall upon him and his household by night and thereafter we shall surely say unto his heir; We witnessed not the destruction of his household, and verily we are truthtellers. 3209 27 50 ومكروا مكرا ومكرنا مكرا وهم لا يشعرون And they plotted a plot, and We plotted a plot, while they perceived it not. 3210 27 51 فانظر كيف كان عاقبة مكرهم أنا دمرناهم وقومهم أجمعين So behold thou how was the end of their plotting: verily We annihilated them and their nation all together. 3211 27 52 فتلك بيوتهم خاوية بما ظلموا إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يعلمون So yonder are their houses overturned, for they did wrong.
