| | | They bow down in prostration and weep and it makes them more humble (before the Lord). |

2139 | 17 | 110 | قل ادعوا الله أو ادعوا الرحمن أيا ما تدعوا فله الأسماء الحسنى ولا تجهر بصلاتك ولا تخافت بها وابتغ بين ذلك سبيلا |
| | | (Muhammad), tell them, "It is all the same whether you call Him God or the Beneficent. All the good names belong to Him." (Muhammad), do not be too loud or slow in your prayer. Choose a moderate way of praying. |

2140 | 17 | 111 | وقل الحمد لله الذي لم يتخذ ولدا ولم يكن له شريك في الملك ولم يكن له ولي من الذل وكبره تكبيرا |
| | | Say, "It is only God who deserves all praise. He has not begotten a son and has no partner in His Kingdom. He does not need any guardian to help Him in His need. Proclaim His greatness. |

2141 | 18 | 1 | بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله الذي أنزل على عبده الكتاب ولم يجعل له عوجا |
| | | Praise be to God. He has sent the Book to His servant and has made it a flawless guide (for human beings) |

2142 | 18 | 2 | قيما لينذر بأسا شديدا من لدنه ويبشر المؤمنين الذين يعملون الصالحات أن لهم أجرا حسنا |
| | | so that he could warn them of His stern retribution, give the glad news of the best and everlasting reward to the righteously striving believers, |

| | | wherein they shall remain forever, |

2144 | 18 | 4 | وينذر الذين قالوا اتخذ الله ولدا |
| | | and admonish those who say that God has begotten a son. |

2145 | 18 | 5 | ما لهم به من علم ولا لآبائهم كبرت كلمة تخرج من أفواههم إن يقولون إلا كذبا |
| | | Neither they nor their fathers had any knowledge of such utterance (that God has begotten a son). Whatever they say about (this matter) is vicious blasphemy and plain lies. |
