He is your Lord, and to Him you shall be brought back.’ 1508 11 35 أم يقولون افتراه قل إن افتريته فعلي إجرامي وأنا بريء مما تجرمون Do they say, ‘He has fabricated it?’ Say, ‘Should I have fabricated it, then my guilt will be upon me, and I am absolved of your guilty conduct.’ 1509 11 36 وأوحي إلى نوح أنه لن يؤمن من قومك إلا من قد آمن فلا تبتئس بما كانوا يفعلون It was revealed to Noah: ‘None of your people will believe except those who already have faith; so do not sorrow for what they used to do. 1510 11 37 واصنع الفلك بأعيننا ووحينا ولا تخاطبني في الذين ظلموا إنهم مغرقون Build the ark before Our eyes and by Our revelation, and do not plead with Me for those who are wrongdoers: they shall indeed be drowned.’ 1511 11 38 ويصنع الفلك وكلما مر عليه ملأ من قومه سخروا منه قال إن تسخروا منا فإنا نسخر منكم كما تسخرون As he was building the ark, whenever the elders of his people passed by him, they would ridicule him. He said, ‘If you ridicule us [today], we shall ridicule you [tomorrow] just as you ridicule us [now]. 1512 11 39 فسوف تعلمون من يأتيه عذاب يخزيه ويحل عليه عذاب مقيم Soon you will know whom a disgraceful punishment will overtake and on whom a lasting punishment will descend.’ 1513 11 40 حتى إذا جاء أمرنا وفار التنور قلنا احمل فيها من كل زوجين اثنين وأهلك إلا من سبق عليه القول ومن آمن وما آمن معه إلا قليل When Our edict came and the oven gushed [a stream of water], We said, ‘Carry in it a pair of every kind [of animal], along with your family—except those [of them] against whom the edict has already been given—and those who have faith.’ And none believed with him except a few. 1514 11 41 وقال اركبوا فيها بسم الله مجراها ومرساها إن ربي لغفور رحيم He said, ‘Board it: In the Name of Allah it shall set sail and cast anchor. Indeed my Lord is all-forgiving, all-merciful.’ 1515 11 42 وهي تجري بهم في موج كالجبال ونادى نوح ابنه وكان في معزل يا بني اركب معنا ولا تكن مع الكافرين And it sailed along with them amid waves [rising] like mountains.
