Is this magic? Magicians do not find salvation.’ 1442 10 78 قالوا أجئتنا لتلفتنا عما وجدنا عليه آباءنا وتكون لكما الكبرياء في الأرض وما نحن لكما بمؤمنين They said, ‘Have you come to us to turn us away from what we found our fathers following, so that supremacy may be yours in the land? We will not believe in the two of you.’ 1443 10 79 وقال فرعون ائتوني بكل ساحر عليم Pharaoh said, ‘Bring me every expert magician.’ 1444 10 80 فلما جاء السحرة قال لهم موسى ألقوا ما أنتم ملقون So when the magicians came, Moses said to them, ‘Throw down what you have to throw.’ 1445 10 81 فلما ألقوا قال موسى ما جئتم به السحر إن الله سيبطله إن الله لا يصلح عمل المفسدين So when they threw down [their sticks and ropes], Moses said, ‘What you have produced is magic. Indeed Allah will bring it to naught presently. Indeed Allah does not foster the efforts of those who cause corruption. 1446 10 82 ويحق الله الحق بكلماته ولو كره المجرمون Allah will confirm the truth with His words, though the guilty should be averse.’ 1447 10 83 فما آمن لموسى إلا ذرية من قومه على خوف من فرعون وملئهم أن يفتنهم وإن فرعون لعال في الأرض وإنه لمن المسرفين But none believed in Moses except some youths from among his people, for the fear of Pharaoh and his elite that he would persecute them. For Pharaoh was indeed a tyrant in the land, and indeed he was an unrestrained [despot]. 1448 10 84 وقال موسى يا قوم إن كنتم آمنتم بالله فعليه توكلوا إن كنتم مسلمين And Moses said, ‘O my people! If you have faith in Allah, put your trust in Him, if you have submitted [to Him].’ 1449 10 85 فقالوا على الله توكلنا ربنا لا تجعلنا فتنة للقوم الظالمين Whereat they said, ‘In Allah we have put our trust.’ ‘Our Lord!
